Coco & Co is a Brooklyn-based business with a line of spiced coconut spreads that can be added to food or drink. They also have a fleet of roving bicycle carts that sell fresh Sri Lankan Coconuts to the streets of NYC and in their words, “Deliver summertime vibes all year-round.” I wanted the branding to be true to the founders’ laid back style and philosophy of bringing the island life to NYC but it also needed to feel upscale and compete with other premium food brands. In order to do this I hand-painted a suite of tropical patterns and illustrations and created a logo that feels hand-drawn as well. I also designed a round logo to use as a stamp on the fresh coconuts. For photography, I concepted and art directed a photo shoot that captured the feeling of a fun Brooklyn rooftop party.
I hand-painted illustrations for the website and also directly onto the coconut carts.
No hipsters were harmed during the making of this photo shoot.
I designed the website to convey the brand’s laid-back island lifestyle, show the different ways to eat the spiced coconut oil, and educate the customer on the quality organic/Fair-trade ingredients.
